Reading. Writing. Simply being.

A pat on the back, Patterson.

I don’t read James Patterson often.  Not because I don’t like his writing:  the genre simply doesn’t interest me.  But, Patterson has donated over 30,000 of his books to troops overseas.   “There are certain things we can’t do,” said Patterson. “We can’t solve the economic crisis. But this is something I felt I could do to help.”  I think now I may give his novels another try.  In many ways it’s not about the type of book you read, but instead the author you choose to support.  For more on Patterson’s history of donation as well as other major players who support the cause please go to:  http://www.publishersweekly.com/pw/by-topic/industry-news/publisher-news/article/51324-how-200-000-books-were-given-to-u-s-troops.html
